A smart vertical warehouse system is an automated storage and retrieval installation for sheet metal and finished products. It is used in fabrication plants and production warehouses to organize material storage and connect stockholding with sheet metal processing and downstream handling operations.

4–22 Storage Tiers Instead of Expanding Floor Stacks
Low-level systems are 6–10 m high with 4–8 tiers; mid-level systems are 10–18 m with 8–14 tiers; high-level systems are 18–30 m with 14–22 tiers. Where floor stacks already encroach on production space but the building has usable height, tiered storage places stock above other stock positions rather than spreading each position across more floor area.

Automated Retrieval for Frequent Material Changes
Automatic retrieval brings stored material from its storage position to the issue point. When consecutive jobs require different sheet specifications, the system replaces repeated manual searching and collection before each job. Material reaches the issue point through the retrieval sequence rather than waiting for personnel to locate and handle the required stock separately.

Automatic Put-Away to Clear Temporary Staging Areas
Automated storage transfers incoming material into warehouse storage positions. When several material deliveries arrive before their production jobs begin, put-away removes that stock from temporary staging space and holds it within the storage system until retrieval. The staging area becomes available for the next receipt instead of remaining occupied by material waiting to be processed.

MES-Ready Coordination with Production Execution
The system is prepared for integration with a manufacturing execution system (MES). Where production work is released through MES, an implemented project interface brings warehouse operation into the same execution workflow. With that connection implemented, material movements are coordinated with the processing sequence instead of treating warehouse dispatch as an independent, manually organized stage.

Quality Control

Incoming materials and fabricated rack components are inspected before assembly. First-article and in-process checks control formed dimensions, joining accuracy and component fit against the project drawings.

The completed manufactured assemblies receive an appearance and fit inspection before packing. Gauge calibration and retained inspection records support consistent dimensional control throughout production.

Detected nonconformities are addressed through documented corrective action. Customer-arranged third-party inspection is accepted before dispatch.
